Cowdrys Wholesale Bakery - Meet the team.
The people behind the bread delivered through Dorset and Hamphire.
Cowdrys bakery has always been a family affair. It was founded and run by the Cowdrys family at 36, West Borough, Wimborne, Dorset until 1967, when the elderly members of the family decided to retire, and asked experienced baker Dennis Glenister to become Managing Director.
After the Glenister family purchased the business in 1974, the bakery continued to grow and Dennis' son, Keith took over the role as Managing Director in 1983. The bakery moved to its current site on the Ferndown Industrial Estate in 1987.
Dennis Glenister sadly died in 1992, still playing a key role in the business, but the rest of the Glenister family continue his baking heritage: Keith runs the business with two of his sons.
Keith plays a very hands-on role within the company, and still goes into the bakery at 6am every morning with the staff to begin baking for the day.
The family is supported by a close knit, dedicated team who have worked together for many years, and who continue to produce the quality products Cowdrys has become renowned for.
Cowdrys team of dedicated drivers begin deliveries at 3am to ensure you get fresh products, direct to your business.
The highly experienced bakery staff is responsible for making and baking delicious cakes and bread. Traditional skills are still used for making certain products, such as knotted bread rolls.
